Azure Water to Print Labels for Miss Florida

August 4, 2015

Ally Stewart with Azure Water is not exactly sure how to do it just yet. Should she make double-sided bottled water labels for MaryKatherine Fechtel or go with the single labeled ones?

It’s a big decision for Stewart. It’s not like Azure Water will earn more for the fancier labels. Stewart says she’s doing this one at no charge. That’s because 19-year-old Fechtel was recently nominated Miss Florida 2015. And she’s from Leesburg, Florida, home to Azure Water. This is a matter of hometown pride, Stewart said.

On Aug. 23 at Leesburg’s Viaport Florida mall (in the fountain area), community leaders and the public are officially “sending off” Fechtel to compete in the Miss America Pageant. The “send off” party is from 2 – 4 p.m. Azure Water is one of the event’s sponsors.

“I think it’d be pretty good if she were selected as Miss America,” Stewart said. Elizabeth Fechtel, MaryKatherine’s sister and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2012, is co-hosting the event. David Lang, co-owner of Regalia Magnificent Apparel and gown sponsor of the Miss America Pageant, is also co-hosting the party.

Jaclyn Raulerson Dicks, Miss Florida 2010, will sing the national anthem and Leah Roddenberry, Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen, will perform a dance. MaryKatherine Fechtel will perform a dance to “Bridge Over Troubled Water” at the Aug. 23 event.

Leesburg city commissioners and the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant’ board of directors are planning to attend the event, which is being sponsored by the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the Leesburg Partnership, Viaport Florida, Miss Daisy’s Flowers and Gifts, and Azure Water.

The Miss America Pageant 2016 is scheduled to be televised Sept. 13 on ABC from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Formerly Miss University of Florida, Fechtel was crowned the Miss Florida 2015 June 20 at St. Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater. She is the daughter of Vince and Dixie Fechtel. She won her first pageant in 2007 as Junior Miss Leesburg.

Affectionately called “MK,” she has called her pageant platform The Worth Campaign, Human Trafficking Awareness and Vulnerability.

Stewart said she feels honored and excited to add her name to the list of sponsors and promoters of Fechtel, her cause and the community she represents.
