Azure Water Helps Sponsors 5K Race to Help Boys and Girls Club

Our Bottled Water Sponsorship Helps Boys & Girls Club

September 15, 2015

The conversation may go something like this: “Drink up, boys and girls. Dihydrogen oxide is good for you.”

“Yea, sure. So is broccoli and Brussels sprouts.”

You may want to elaborate to pique the little ones’ interest. Dihydrogen oxide isn’t some diabolic concoction created in the lair of some mad scientist; it’s water! And it’s good for you. Really, really good.

We at Azure Water understand the benefits of water; we also understand the importance of educating children on its importance for healthy living. That’s why we at Azure Water provided bottled water sponsorship to the Harbor Hills Country Club’s 5K race that benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties.

We provided the club with 10 cases of bottled water (240 bottles) – with a specially designed label of their own.

Ally Stewart with Azure Water said, “We support what they’re doing. We agree with their goal.”

Club, Azure Have Special Relationship

The club – which has operated in the two counties for more than 40 years – has a unique place in Stewart’s heart. The club was Azure Water’s first customer for bottled water sponsorship since the business opened last year in Leesburg. As a grandmother, Stewart directs her efforts to helping children understand why water is healthy and convenient.

Azure Water frequently hosts tours of the bottled water plant for youth and school groups. “We have children in the after-school programs who visit the plant. We encourage them to drink water. They can put bottled water by their bed. When they see it, they drink it,” Stewart said.”It’s good to drink water in the morning.”

Stewart said she strives to connect with the community of Leesburg in part to recognize its home-town atmosphere and to bolster grassroots efforts of creating stronger community ties. “Leesburg is very supportive of us. We’d like to give back to the community.”

She said Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce representatives frequently request Azure Water sponsor tours of the plant to educate children on the business and on the benefits of water consumption.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties is “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” according to its website.

“Our vision is to provide a world-class club experience that assures success is within reach of every child who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.”

The club provided services or made programs available to more than 1,700 local children in 2013.

Azure Water’s facility uses state-of-the-art equipment that is able to generate 5,000 cases of water a day, including alkaline spring water and artesian mineral water. We can produce custom-bottle shapes, and fill, seal and label your bottles. If you’re looking to expand your business or have questions about co-packing or our capabilities, contact us.
