U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster Congratulates Azure Water

February 24, 2016

U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster, a Winter Garden Republican, understands the importance of local business in helping bolster community confidence and in maintaining economic stability.

That’s why the Florida District 10 representative made his way to Leesburg Friday, Feb. 19. He presented a letter that congratulates Azure Water for the bottled water company’s charitable outreach efforts.

Webster’s letter stated: “Congratulations on the distinction of receiving the 2015 Medium Business Achievement Award for your faithful service and dedication to the City of Leesburg. It is my pleasure to join North Lake business and community leaders in honoring your service to others and the hard work you have invested to achieve this recognition by the Leesburg Area Chamber of Commerce.”

Webster’s district covers most of Lake County, western Orange County and the northern part of Polk County. Leesburg and Clermont in Lake County are within Webster’s district.

Chamber members surprised Azure Water president Ally Stewart in late December by presenting her with the Business Achievement Award for Medium Size Business at her business. She had been unable to attend an earlier business awards banquet where the achievement was announced.

“It is a surprise,” she said. “It is good. We’re grateful for our efforts. We work very hard.”

Azure Water’s community outreach efforts are extensive and include providing help for numerous local organizations and causes: the Leesburg Police Department’s National Night Out Sponsorship; Fruitland Park’s Heritage Community Church sponsorship of a mission trip to Nicaragua; MaryKatherine Fechtel’s bid to become Miss America (Fechtel of Leesburg won Miss Florida); a local Boys and Girls Club event; an event for New Vision for Independence in Lake Sumter counties; and the Leesburg Lightning, a local minor league baseball team.
